8 Tips For Quick Drying Nail Varnish

How do you make your nail varnish set fast? How do you tell when your freshly painted nails are completely dry? It is quite difficult and frustrating, right? It may sometimes feel dry to touch but will still smudge when brushed up against a hard surface. Fortunately, there are ways on how to make your nail varnish dry quicker.

  1. You need to apply two layers of polish to achieve evenly applied nail varnish. Because of this you need to apply thin coats of nail varnish because thick layers will take a long time to dry. If you apply thin coats of nail polish, it will dry faster. Before applying polish on your nails, run the nail polish brush on the bottle’s rim to remove the excess paint.
  2. Even coats of nail varnish dry faster. It is best to wait for at least a minute in between coats – including the base and top coat.
  3. Use a quick drying top coat to finish off your nails. You can find these quick drying clear polishes at local beauty supply and drug stores. Such hardens quickly because they contain mineral oil which dries faster. These top coats protect your nails from smudges.
  4. Spray your nails with quick drying nail spray. Most beauty supply stores have these at cheaper prices. Nail sprays work greatly on speeding up your nail varnish drying process. Just spray a light layer and hold the aerosol spray about 12 inches away from your nails.
  5. Try drying your nail varnish with a blow dryer. With your hair dryer set at the coolest setting, direct the air to your nails for a couple of minutes. Cool air is better in drying nails and much safer than hot air. Just be careful that you not smudge the hand that holds the blow dryer. Better if you can have someone help you operate the blow dryer.
  6. You can also place your nails in front of a fan. Allow the cool air to blow on your nails and wait until the coating hardens. However, this method takes longer time than the others.
  7. Since cold temperature helps set the polish, try dipping your nails in a bowl of ice-cold water for 30 to 60 seconds and air dry. Do not swirl your nails around the water; just keep it in the water in a steady dip.
  8. Get some nail drops that aid in quick drying nail polish. They set and dry polish fast usually in just 45 seconds. However, it comes with a little expensive price tag.
  9. Moisturize your hands and feet once you’ve painted your nails.
  10. If drying still takes time, a combination of all these may work for you.

Less hand movement also aids in drying nail varnish faster. Just sit, relax, and don’t touch anything or you’ll see your nails ruined. Keep your manicure looking perfect and fresh by heeding any of these solutions and we’re sure that your painted nails will dry fast without smudges.
